Hey Community!

I'm Khay, and I'm so excited to kick off this beautiful journey toward wellness, connection, and nature with you.

This first hike was more than just a trail—it was about creating a healing space for new hikers to gather, reset, and explore the natural beauty around us. My goal through this series is to build a community where we can move our bodies, calm our minds, and reclaim the outdoors—together.

🖤 Why It Matters

As a Black woman who found hiking in 2017 as a way to manage anxiety and reconnect with self, I know how transformative time in nature can be. The trail became my therapy—my grounding space. I started with solo walks and then brought my daughter Afri along in the stroller—eventually, she started hiking right beside me. If she can do it, you can too!

“Hike with Khay” isn’t just about fitness. It’s about wellness. It’s about cultivating a rhythm of healing and presence, especially for communities who haven’t always felt welcome in outdoor spaces. This series is about taking up space in nature, together.

This is just the beginning. Hike with Khay will continue to highlight new trails across the Greater Metropolitan area, inviting more people to explore, heal, and grow. Whether you’re joining solo or bringing a friend, there’s a space for you in this community.
